Reflections from the Parents of Our Year 9 Students
From Year 9 through to Year 12, the secondary school journey at Surp Haç High School is shaped not only by academic progression but also by a strong and enduring sense of community. The experiences of parents who choose our school reflect its distinctive educational philosophy, institutional culture and deeply rooted sense of belonging.
Although I had previously known Surp Haç High School only by name, I truly came to know it through my daughter. At first, we had our doubts, the distance seemed challenging, and we wondered how it would all work. Yet today, it has become one of our most meaningful “so glad we did” decisions. We are sincerely grateful to everyone whose dedication and care have contributed so much to my daughter’s growth.

Last year, we had our daughter enrolled at Surp Haç High School without hesitation. First of all, Baron Serkan's approach and the young and dynamic nature of the training staff impressed us as parents. In the first year, we spent time getting used to school, classes, classmates, family, of course. But at the end of the season, it seemed to all of us that he always studied at this school. Our hope is that he has a successful high school term, first with the support of himself and then his teachers. It is not easy for our instructors to deal with all the adolescents individually... They have a great contribution to the formation of their character. At the end of the day, what matters is that our young people not only succeed, but also be good people who benefit society. On the very first day we walked through the gates to complete our son’s enrolment, we were greeted by what so many of your alumni fondly describe as the unmistakable “spirit of the school”. It was one of the most difficult decisions I have ever had to make. Circumstances led me to enrol my son in a school located in a neighbourhood entirely unfamiliar to me, among people I did not know. On the day of registration, I entered through those doors with deep concern and many unanswered questions. Had someone told me that I would leave feeling reassured, confident and entirely at peace with my decision, I would scarcely have believed them.Yet the impression I formed on that first day remained almost unchanged until the very end of the year. The genuine family atmosphere created by teachers and administrators who take true ownership of their responsibilities, the well-balanced discipline founded on firmness tempered with care, and the palpable sense of varjaran culture all affirmed that we were exactly where we ought to be. My heartfelt thanks go to Baron Serkan Kıyıcı and to the entire Surp Haç High School community. We are truly grateful for your presence and your steadfast leadership.

In the 2023–2024 academic year, our son began his journey with the Surp Haç High School family — stepping into a new chapter with a mixture of surprise and excitement. As a family with a long-standing connection to Surp Haç, we entrusted the youngest member of our household to the school’s caring and protective environment. Every department within the school demonstrated such genuine interest and attentiveness that, in a short time, he became a student who truly loves his school. He joined the theatre group and took part in a remarkable performance, which became a meaningful milestone in his development. Beyond their professionalism and dedication, our teachers approach their students with heartfelt care, embracing them as if they were their own children and standing by them wholeheartedly.
