From Past to Present

1678
The First Steps of Education

The foundations of Surp Hac High School were laid in 1678 as a school affiliated with the Surp Hac Church in Üsküdar. This period represents the early years in which education stood at the heart of community life, where knowledge, values and faith were passed on together.

1770-1932
The Seminary Period

From the 1770s onwards, Surp Hac High School assumed the identity of a seminary under the name Tıbradun ve İskolya. Throughout this long period, the institution became not only a centre for the training of clergy, but also an important hub for cultivating individuals with strong cultural and intellectual foundations.

1950s
Reconstruction and Institutionalisation

In the 1950s, under the leadership of Archbishop Karekin Haçaduryan, the school was rebuilt. This period marked a turning point, during which Surp Hac High School was restructured in line with a modern educational vision and its institutional identity was significantly strengthened.

1969
High School Identity

Following the closure of the Theology Department, Surp Hac High School was granted the status of Private Surp Haç Armenian High School in 1969. This transition served as a strong indication that the institution was adapting to a contemporary educational structure while remaining firmly rooted in its heritage.
