Literature and Creative Writing Meeting with Rober Koptaş

Our gathering began with an in-depth discussion of Rober Koptaş’s debut novel Unufak, through which we explored themes such as collective memory, the search for identity and confronting the past. Together with Mr Koptaş and our Literature teachers, our students reflected on these significant topics from their own perspectives.

In the second part of the event, we held a creative writing session with our students. Prior to the workshop, our school had compiled a “map of hometowns” representing the family origins of Tıbrevank students, which proved particularly thought-provoking. Drawing inspiration from conversations with their elders, students wrote their own family stories.

Throughout the workshop, they shared photographs connected to their family histories and exchanged ideas with Mr Koptaş, enriching their narratives through thoughtful dialogue and reflection.
