As part of the Translators’ Day celebrations held at our school, a Short Story Writing Festival dedicated to the enduring memory of Sırpuhi Düsap was organised with the participation of students from five high schools.

During the festival, students first read excerpts from their own original stories and then responded to questions from the event’s distinguished guests, Vahakn Keşişyan and Maral Aktokmayan.

In the second part of the programme, a group of Year 10 and Year 11 students from Surp Haç Tıbrevank High School shared their reflections on Sırpuhi Düsap and her novel Mayda, which they had studied in their Armenian language lessons.

In the final session, the moderators, Vahakn Keşişyan and Maral Aktokmayan, concluded the event by sharing insightful information about both the book and Sırpuhi Düsap herself.

Our Headteacher, Hayg Serkan Kıyıcı, thanked the participating students and teachers and wished them continued success. He also emphasised the vital importance of Armenian culture and language in preserving Armenian identity.
